2005 Golden Arrow Awards

Fifth Third Bank operates 135 banking centers throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. The Bank’s 4,000 square foot Yorkville banking center, which officially opened in August of 2005, provides full service banking solutions to the Yorkville community. From checking and saving products to mortgage and business lending programs, Fifth Third is committed to offering extensive banking options and to provide their customers with the comprehensive solutions they deserve. Fifth Third is dedicated to the communities in which it works. As a part of this commitment, the Bank recently donated $4,500 to the schools of Yorkville School District 115 at their official ribbon cutting ceremony. Greco - Reggi Development has a distinct reputation for building architecturally unique buildings that are often used as premier examples of construction in the towns that they are located in. Yorkville is the home of their latest project, located at the Yorkville Marketplace Shopping Center. Maciano’s Restaurant and the Cellular Connection are two new Yorkville businesses that are located in the building. Greco-Reggi Development incorporated varied colored brick, aged copper caps, oversized turnbuckles, brick paver walkways, and built in planters to create a superb 4,900 square foot structure. Yorkville is certainly pleased to have this premier example of commercial development in our City. Healthcare Development Partners has over 14 years of experience in medical real estate development with a proven track record of strategically developing and filling new healthcare facilities. Healthcare Development Partners entered into a partnership with Dreyer Medical Clinic and Provena Mercy Center, to bring Yorkville a new state of the art 22,000 square foot medical office building. The facility, which is located on Route 34 near Sycamore opened on August 22 nd of 2005. Healthcare Development Partners prides themselves in the unique design which will insure an optimum experience for both Dreyer Medical Clinic and Provena Mercy patients. The Windham Group was established in 1980 as a custom homebuilder in Wheaton, Illinois and has evolved into a residential and commercial development firm currently located in Yorkville. Today we recognize their office development known as “ Prairie Garden Executive Center”, located at Route 47 and Garden Street. When complete the site will include six buildings, a total of 30,600 square feet of professional office space, and a garden patio for all owners and employees to enjoy. Suites and entire buildings are available for lease or sale and feature single story masonry construction with customized build-outs. The center is currently home to Edward Jones Investments, Dr. Benjamin Raab – Dermatology and Cosmetic Skin Surgery, Prairie Dental, Keystrokes Transcription Services and Chicago Advertising and Marketing. The First National Bank Yorkville a 3,000 square foot full service banking facility of the First National Bank of Ottawa opened for business on May 11 th of 2005. This financial institution is actually one of the oldest banks in Illinois. Originally founded in June of 1865 the First National Bank of Ottawa was the only bank in LaSalle County to stay open during the Great Depression. First National Bank Yorkville’s mission is to be a full service provider of financial services to all of Kendall County. They provide consumer and commercial loans, deposit accounts, insurance and investment planning, and trust services. Its affiliation with First National Bank of Ottawa enables it to offer the full range of financial services for true one stop banking. Castle Bank has been a Yorkville landmark for 91 years. With the city growing in population and businesses moving in, Castle Bank outgrew what has been home for the past 32 years. In less than one year’s time, the new 20,000 square foot facility has been completed and opened its doors last month on September 6 th. There are 44 full and part time employees at this location, which is one of nine other Castle Bank locations, with corporate headquarters in DeKalb. The two-story, spacious, new Yorkville branch is the second largest Castle Bank branch featuring an open floor plan with glass offices, and training facilities. Castle Bank offers a complete line of financial services including mortgage, construction and commercial loans, financial planning, investment products, checking and savings accounts, safe deposit boxes and a fill time trust department. Castle Bank continues to put customer service first – an extreme makeover outside, with the same great people inside. FE Wheaton started selling building materials in 1892 in Wheaton, IL. The company moved its 140 employees, and its headquarters, from Wheaton to a 155,000 square feet space in the Yorkville Business Center in 1997. Excellent service, dedication, expert advice, accuracy, and great cooperation are all things that FE Wheaton’s customers have come to enjoy and expect. Their business has continued to thrive since moving to Yorkville, and the decision was made to expand their facilities to accommodate this growth. The new 122,000 square foot building was completed in August and includes 22,000 square feet of office and showroom space. This capital investment is a major component in the future of Yorkville. The continued growth of this company has also generated much opportunity for our city as currently FE Wheaton employs nearly 250 individuals in Yorkville. Accepting the Golden Arrow Award for Business Expansion for FE Wheaton is Operations Manager Pat Briody.


 

The Kendall Pub will forever be known as the first redevelopment in series significant projects in Yorkville’s downtown redevelopment plan. This redevelopment is a complete transformation of the space by essentially striping the inside of the building and custom building the interior. The upscale pub includes an impressive 42 foot mahogany bar, and imported alabaster chandeliers which adds to its ambiance. Since its opening in August of 2005 patrons have stopped into this establishment to enjoy hefty burgers, homemade pizza, and more than 100 brands of beer, with 22 brands on tap. Everyone who visits The Kendall Pub has enjoyed a welcoming atmosphere, great food, and lots of fun.
